Deadline to apply for STEP 2024: June 1, 2024
Participation in the Special Transitional Enrichment Program is by invitation only. STEP helps primarily first generation, low income students transition into the university. In order to be considered for the program, students must complete the following:
- STEP Application: If invited to apply, the STEP application will be found on the MyAdmission portal.
- Statement of Intent to Register (SIR): Students must submit their SIR in order to apply to STEP. Once the SIR has been submitted, student will find the STEP application on their MyAdmissions portal to do list.
- Statement of Legal Residence (SLR): Interested students must also submit their SLR. This form can be found on the MyAdmissions portal check list after submitting their SIR.
- FAFSA/Dream Act Applications: In order for an application to be considered complete, students must also complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA or Dream Act Application. This application is in addition to the 2024-2025 FAFSA/Dream Act application. This means STEP applicants must submit TWO FAFSA/Dream Act Applications. If the 2023-2024 FAFSA is not completed, applications will be incomplete and not considered.
Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), Statement of Legal Residence (SLR), and both 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 FAFSA/CA Dream Act Applications (Deadline is May 15, 2024) must be submitted before you can submit your application for STEP. If these materials are NOT complete, applications for STEP will NOT be considered. The deadline to apply to STEP 2024 is June 1, 2024.
