Welcome to the Aggie Family
STEP recognizes that students have many people in their lives who have supported and encouraged their success leading to admittance to UC Davis, and we know families come in many forms from all walks of life. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, partner, spouse, legal guardian, mentor or friend, welcome to the Aggie family! Through STEP we hope to foster relationships that will enable students to build a support network while at UC Davis.
Students must submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) for UC Davis by May 15, 2024 before they can apply to STEP. FAFSA or CA Dream Act applications must also be submitted by May 15, 2024. If your student has been invited to apply for STEP, please encourage them to apply via MyAdmissions by the STEP application deadline: June 1, 2024. We encourage family members to hold their students accountable and to check in with them often to make sure students are completing the application on time.
STEP has a summer bridge component and lasts two years of the student's undergraduate career. The program is designed to provide students with the proper tools to succeed at UC Davis through a multitude of resources such as one-on-one advising, tutoring and study-skills workshops. We have high expectations for our students and aspire to adequately prepare them for their future careers.
