STEP students at Wellman Hall

How to Apply to STEP

Participation in the Special Transitional Enrichment Program is by invitation only. STEP helps primarily first generation, low income students transition into the university. In order to be considered for the program, students must complete the following:

  1. STEP Application: If invited to apply, the STEP application will be found on the MyAdmission portal.
  2. Statement of Intent to Register (SIR): Students must submit their SIR in order to apply to STEP. Once the SIR has been submitted, student will find the STEP application on their MyAdmissions portal to do list.
  3. Statement of Legal Residence (SLR): Interested students must also submit their SLR. This form can be found on the MyAdmissions portal check list after submitting their SIR.
  4. FAFSA/Dream Act Applications: In order for an application to be considered complete, student must also complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA or Dream Act Application. This application is in addition to the 2022-2023 FAFSA/Dream Act application. This means STEP applicants must submit TWO FAFSA/Dream Act Applications. If the 2021-2022 FAFSA is not completed, applications will be incomplete and not considered.
All forms and applications must be submitted by May 1. If ALL material is NOT completed by this deadline, applications will NOT be considered.
